Tiling The Bathroom
Today tiling of our 5 x 8 bathroom with mable subway tile. All 3 walls of the 3 x 5 shower will be tiled to the 10 foot ceiling; the rest of the room will be tiled to 46 inches. The work is expected to take a week to complete.
One problem I had when a tiler did not leave a gap at the top and bottom of the tile was severe earthquake cracks. Hopefully you left a gap and used caulk, not grout to fill it in. Personally, I will never allow tile completely to the ceiling to prevent this in the future. Good luck!
That's an interesting point. Does your house have a new foundation? I wonder whether the fact that we replaced ours will make the house a little more robust in earthquakes (that and the fact that the right side wall of the bathroom is a shear wall).

Looks like you will be ready to have guests stay soon.
Yes! This phase of the project is almost done after 8 months of construction. Should be over by the end of next month.
